oh, how i wish that catherine o'hara would stop appearing in lame-o, out of season, ben affleck vehicles, and that eugene levy would stop making ever more horrible american pie sequels and that instead they would make beautiful folk music together all day long...

ashlee simpson caught lipsynching on SNL
then she tries to blame it on the band

Haha OMG, I was watching the Tonight Show and this is how Leno introduced the musical guest "Our next guest is Ambulance, they have a new CD called LP" way to be hip with the kids Jay. By the way, what's the story with these guys? Is it cool to hate them? Because I think I want to hate them, but Pitchfork gave their EP a 6.4 which seems kinda high so maybe I'm supposed to like them? They haven't reviewed their LP and I just don't know what to do without guidance from the mighty Pitchfork. It's so confusing!!!

Oh, but speaking of HATE, because I love to hate, I SOOOO hate this guy Chuck Anderson, his client list includes Absolut and the guy's not even old enough to buy that shit. Oh, and this quote...

How did you manage to bust out at such a young age, hook up with some hot clients, while evading shopping for weed bandanas and studded oo-rags with money you'd make from shoveling show?
I managed because of my choice not to go to college - the best decision of my life. I worked at a screenprinter for some time after I graduated high school and realized I wanted to run my own game. Not going to college saved me the two things that everybody wants more of - time and money. I've hooked the fresh clients by having good work and an honest and confident work ethic. I make sure I come off sounding professional and at the top of the game.

blah blahCollapse )

i'm casey spooner and you're not [12 Sep 2004|11:59am]
From Gawker.com....
After a particularly uninspired lipsynching, Casey mumbled something about how the song he'd just performed is usually a highlight of the show, and the lyrics were based on some book or author he liked. In keeping with the who-gives-a-shit spirit of the show, I yelled out, "So what?!!" And Casey went off. "So he's a fucking genius and you're a nobody! So I'm onstage and you're out there in the dark! So I'm a fucking millionaire and you're worthless! I'M CASEY SPOONER AND YOU'RE NOT!!!"

dude, #2 is so gonna suck.

I've returned from my self-imposed El-Jay exile just to say that Beat Takeshi's Blind Swordsman Zatôichi is FREAKING AWESOME DUDE and you should go see it if you happen to like samurai flicks (or at least Kill Bill). It's bursting with CGI blood and plus there's a tap number for the finale. Oh, except you probably can't see it right now, because you probably don't have a FREAKING AWESOME second-run theater that plays tons of indies and foreign films for just three bucks a pop, so you'll just have to wait for it's DVD release on November the ninth (or buy/rent an import version if you can find it).

You know I always try to be an optimist and think the best of people, and see the good in everyone... but yeah, sometimes, like for example when I'm at a party and I go into a room with about, oh five people, and while I'm there my phone disappears and then when I call it the next day some stoners pick up and hang up on me, I'm rudely reminded that about 99.9% of humanity needs to undergo mandatory sterilization...

oh man, how stoked am i about this movie? well perhaps not stoked enough to have tickets to tomorrow's showing of the entire trilogy, because, yeah i'm not that crazy and obsessed or anything (plus the tickets were already sold out three weeks ago, and anyway i already saw the extended versions of the first two films on the big screen last week). , but ok, i'm really-really-really stoked.

it's like qunetin tarantino took all my favorite things in the world
(namely, uma thurman, that hot girl from battle royale, lucy liu,
hot girl fights choreographed by woo-ping yuen, anime,
samurai swords, and of course, those hot hot asics)
and blended them into a great big ball of... movie goodness!
every frame is a work of art, just wow...! this why i go to
the movies. my favorite film of all time?
i think we have a winner!!!

she's so cute, but she looked so fragile, rather like she might fall under the weight of her accordion. oh and who's the new girl touring with them? and when's the new album coming out?
